As dental professionals, we get asked all the time, “What toothpaste do you use at home?”.
The truth is, we’re just like you. We’re price conscious. We look for the best product at the lowest price in whatever Walgreens or grocery store we shop. Of course, the ‘best’ tube for any one of us depends on our personal goals for our teeth and their overall health/needs in general. Some of us at the office, look for fluoride-free. Others refuse to use anything other than a paste designed to whiten. It’s estimated that there are over a dozen “kinds” of toothpaste, each designed to do different things based on the ingredients. There are ones with fluoride (always look for fluoride-free in your kids’ paste!), desensitizing varieties, anti-calculus pastes, anti-plaque toothpaste, and even ones designed specially for smokers to list a few. Here’s the breakdown on our brand preferences from Milwaukee’s best dental team!
